Dr. J S Kumar

Dr. J S Kumar is a Consultant Diabetologist at Apollo Sugar Clinic and Professor, Department of Medicine, at SRM Medical College and Research Institute, Kattankulathur, Chennai. He is also Diabetology-in-charge at SRM, since December 2009. He can also be consulted at Kumar Clinic, Valsaravakkam, Chennai.

Dr. Kumar is well qualified and trained. After completing his MBBS in 1997, from which time he started practicing, he did his MD in Internal Medicine from Sri Ramachandra Medical College, in the year 2000 and then followed it up with a Graduate Diploma in Diabetes Care from the University of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia in 2005.

Dr. Kumar has kept educating himself in his area of specialisation by attending Conferences and Scientific Sessions in India and abroad and by taking part in Research Projects. He has undergone Training in Endocrinology at Beth Israel Hospital, New York, USA, and is a Certified Insulin Pump Provider having been trained in Joslin Diabetes Center, Boston. He also has considerable teaching experience, and is currently Professor, Department of Medicine, at SRM Medical College and Research Institute, Chennai. Dr. J S Kumar is a member of a number of National and International Diabetes Associations and has published several papers on various aspects of Diabetes.
